Jan 15, 2024

The last few years have marked a new era for the Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority. Since 2020, innovating in the area of stormwater management has been a central institutional mandate. The strategic plan that was approved the following year places public and environmental health at the center of the organization’s mission.

Working to make these priorities a sustainable reality will be a seasoned engineer who knows the ins and outs of water and wastewater and understands the contours of the water industry in Pennsylvania. Rachael Beam brings a dozen years of experience in in-house engineering as well as external consulting to the role of Chief Engineer at Pittsburgh Water and Sewer Authority. Rachael has just concluded seven years at Pennsylvania American Water, where she held multiple positions, including serving as the organization’s Engineering Manager. Prior to that, she held roles at GAI Consultants, Inc., where she consulted to multiple industrial and municipal water clients.
