Aaron Myers
Executive Director
DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities
As the designated state arts agency for the District of Columbia, the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities (CAH) has a broad and powerful mandate to promote progress in the arts and humanities throughout the District. A wide of array of programs and services from individual and organizational grants and public art to arts education and podcasts help ensure that a life enriched by the arts is not reserved for an exclusive few but accessible to all who call DC home.
The person at the helm of CAH must at once be steeped in the arts and expert in organizational leadership. Aaron Myers is that person. An acclaimed jazz musician and former artist-in-residence at Georgetown University, who has also served as the interim President and CEO of a major human services and youth development organization in Greater Washington, Aaron brings a unique and valuable skillset to CAH. Aaron is also the Founding Vice-Chair of the LGBTQIA Committee of the NAACP DC Branch and a member of the Board of Governors of the DC Chapter of the Recording Academy.
