In many ways, we at POLIHIRE have Iris Fisher to thank for our ongoing relationship with the Birmingham Water Works Board (BWWB). The search that led to her becoming Assistant General Manager for Finance and Administration was just our second engagement with BWWB. Since then we’ve had the privilege of identifying three other leaders for the Alabama water utility. Her success in this position has surely played a role in the strong relationship between POLIHIRE and BWWB.
With 22 years of accounting, finance, and administrative experience and her role as BWWB’s Accounting Manager, Iris came into the AGM position poised for success. After earning her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Alabama State University in 1997, Iris continued her studies at the University of Alabama at Birmingham, earning her master’s degree in 1999. She started her career as a Staff Accountant for HealthSouth Corporation before becoming Staff Auditor for Ernst & Young LLP.
