Timothy Bryant
CEO/General Manager
Fayetteville Public Works Commission
The Fayetteville Public Works Commission (PWC) is more than a local utility. Beyond delivering reliable power to residents throughout the Fayetteville, NC region, PWC is an innovator. A network of electric vehicle charging stations throughout the Fayetteville area that can be used by the public at no cost is just one of PWC’s many environmental and conservation programs. The award-winning organization also serves the Fayetteville community in ways that go beyond electricity, including sponsorship of the annual Fayetteville Dogwood Festival as well as Public Works, the community-wide art exhibit.
An organization that is both community-rooted and technology-driven requires a leader who is future-focused, able to deeply connect with customers, and understands the science and engineering upon which this 100-year-old institution operates. POLIHIRE began working on behalf of PWC in December 2022 to identify this rare leader, and today Timothy Bryant takes the helm of Fayetteville Public Works Commission.
Tim comes to PWC from Florida Power and Light Company (FPL). His 15-year career at FPL culminated in the position of Director of External Affairs, where he focused on organizational and regional matters of distribution, economic development, and community relations. Not to be overlooked, Tim is an engineer through and through. Positions as Plant General Manager and Project Engineering Manager at FPL and Southern Company, respectively, highlight Tim’s innovations in the design of power generation facilities and environmental control systems.
Today is somewhat of a homecoming for Tim, who was born and raised in Goldsboro, NC. In a press release Tim said, “It is my honor and privilege to join PWC! My family and I are extremely excited to come back home to North Carolina and look forward to contributing to the on-going success of PWC and the greater Fayetteville community.”
